About me – Ben Ramsden BSc (Hons) MBA MIET CEng.
Mensard was founded by me. I’m an expert in creating the new, or improving the old.
I’ve probably worked with people like you. For over 20 years I’ve held line, manager or leadership roles; mostly in large complex multinational organisations. I’ve done everything from digging up the road to repair power cables in the UK, to Directing Strategy for Australia’s largest telecommunications company. As a career expat I’ve lived in 5 different countries and worked in many more, so it’s been my privilege to experience many wonderful people, cultures and organisations. During this time I’ve had both fantastic successes and spectacular failures (ouch!).
Beyond corporates, my entrepreneurial activities include founding a successful bandwidth trading company, and a business coaching firm that ended with all the directors hiring lawyers. Today I consult to organisations about business transformation, and am building a portfolio of digital ventures. This means I have a vast hotbed of experiences to share with you.
Why did I establish Mensard?
I started my career in a government department that was then privatised and forced to compete for business. My early experiences of it struggling to cope with it’s new environment sparked my passion for organisational behaviour and business transformation.
Wherever I’ve been people were facing a common challenge – how to dramatically improve the performance of their organisation. And generally I found that those who were great at the ‘what’ were often dreadful at the ‘how’. Which means that the world is full of well intentioned projects that ultimately fail.
I founded Mensard because the majority of executives need help with the most important skill in the 21st century – business transformation. We aspire to deliver immediate, practical support to ambitious time-poor executives in large complex organisations who seek dramatic performance improvements.
